The Topaz Deluxe Aneroid Sphygmomanometer has a 1 tube system, combined bellows and gauge tube for easy one-handed use. It features a trigger button or screw valve pressure release, robust metal casing and a rotating head for left or right handed users.

How to check blood pressure using a sphygmomanometer

  1. Locate your pulse by lightly pressing your index and middle fingers slightly to the inside centre of the bend of your elbow. If you cannot locate your pulse, place the arm cuff in the same general area.
  2. Pump the cuff to restrict the blood blow in your arm - this may feel a bit uncomfortable, but only lasts a few seconds
  3. Slowly release the cuff
  4. The pressure in the cuff is recorded at 2 points as the blood flow starts to return to your arm - these measurements are used to give your blood pressure reading. Click here to understand your blood pressure reading.

  • How does the Topaz Deluxe Aneroid Sphygmomanometer work?
Question by: Steroplast on 2020-10-20 10:56:26

The Topaz Deluxe Aneroid Sphygmomanometer is designed with a combined bellows and gauge tube, which allows for easier operation with one hand. It also features a rotating head, making it ideal for both right-handed and left-handed practitioners, freeing your either hand for logging notes. Like most standard sphygmomanometers, the bellows is squeezed to pump up the cuff, and then the dial will display the pressure. This can then be read with ease to obtain patient readings. To suit different preferences, it features both a trigger button and a screw valve pressure release.
